This poem was written by a young Indian girl while she was in jail on drug charges. The young woman was addicted to meth. She fully grasped the horrors of the drug while she wrote this simple, profound poem.
The girl was released from jail, but true to her story, meth owned her. She was found dead shortly after. The needle was still in her arm --


My Name is Meth
I destroy homes, I tear families apart,
I take your children, and that's just the start.
I'm more costly than diamonds, more precious than gold,
The sorrow I bring is a sight to behold.

If you need me, remember I'm easily found,
I live all around you -
in schools and in town
I live with the rich, I live with the poor,
I live down the street, and maybe next door.

I'm made in a lab, but not like you think,
I can be made under the kitchen sink.
In your child's closet, and even in the woods,
If this scares you to death, well it certainly should.

I have many names, but there's one you know best,
I'm sure you've heard of me, my name is crystal meth.
My power is awesome, try me you'll see,
But if you do, you may never break free.
Just try me once and I might let you go,
But try me twice, and I'll own your soul.

When I possess you, you'll steal and you'll lie,
You do what you have to -- just to get high.
The crimes you'll commit for my narcotic charms
Will be worth the pleasure you'll feel in your arms.
You'll lie to your mother, you'll steal from your dad,
When you see their tears, you should feel sad.
But you'll forget your morals and how you were raised,
I'll be your conscience, I'll teach you my ways.

I take kids from parents, and parents from kids,
I turn people from God, and separate friends.
I'll take everything from you, your looks and your pride,
I'll be with you always -- right by your side.
You'll give up everything - your family, your home,
Your friends, your money, then you'll be alone.

I'll take and take, till you have nothing more to give,
When I'm finished with you, you'll be lucky to live.
If you try me be warned - this is no game,
If given the chance, I'll drive you insane.
I'll ravish your body, I'll control your mind,
I'll own you completely, your soul will be mine.
The nightmares I'll give you while lying in bed,
The voices you'll hear, from inside your head.
The sweats, the shakes, the visions you'll see,
I want you to know, these are all gifts from me.

But then it's too late, and you'll know in your heart,
That you are mine, and we shall not part.
You'll regret that you tried me, they always do,
But you came to me, not I to you.

You knew this would happen, many times you were told,
But you challenged my power, and chose to be bold.
You could have said no, and just walked away,
If you could live that day over, now what would you say?

I'll even go with you, when you go to your grave.
Now that you have met me, what will you do?
Will you try me or not? It's all up to you.
I can bring you more misery than words can tell,

This is so tragic, Let everyone you know read about it so maybe they will not do it!!!!!!!!

Snow,Snow go away

Hi ,
Things here in Lodi are so snowy. We must have a foot of snow. We were suppose to get this major snow storm today but thank the Lord we were spared. Saturday I went and decided to go and shovel the drive way, well, I ended up in the hospital. Yes me the strong one. The one who can do it all myself. Hahahaha!!!!When My grandson saw me he came over to help me. Again thank God , He noticed I was not acting right and went and got his mom by then I was in a chair and I guess she took me to the hospital. I really don't remember much . I guess it was a TIA. Not really sure about that either. But I now feel better. B/P's a little high but I guess I lucked out. Just having the Lord by my side helped. He sent Thomas over who is 12. So I want to warn everyone snow can put a lot of pressure on your body and head. Please take measures to be safe and if you are older let it melt. Pay a kid or just don't go out. We are do for more snow Sunday and Monday I hope that passes too.
This is a crazy time we live in. but it is our time . Just be safe the winter will end soon I hope. I could never of made it in the ice age. I am a freeze baby. Funny but come August I will be complaining about the heat. But what I would give for some of that right now. Till the next time be safe and remember to say your prays.

The New year has begun!!!!!

Yes the New year is here and I hope every one's Christmas and New year day was G-R-E-A-T. Mine was. I haven't written in a long time. I finished my painting of the ceilings and guess what ,Yes you got it, I got a leak in the front bedroom roof so now I have a water stain, which I will fix come spring. No more painting for now.



I live in Ohio and as you know it is cold here not as cold as Montana but cold. This year we received a freezing wind like everyone else and snow everyday except yesterday and today since 1-1-2010. The temp is above freezing, finally. Its' suppose to go in the 40's, what a heat wave. I love the snow but I will be glad when it goes. My favorite seasons are spring and fall, forget the other two.








Any way, like everyone else I want to show you my Christmas tree. It is a little one . No sense in using a big tree, there is only me. If it weren't for the grand kids I wouldn't even put one up. I love birds and as you can see there are a few birds nests in the tree.



I play rummy with my friend across the street all the time . One day I said to her " I have to make some candy cane mice for my grandson's class for Christmas, would you like to help?" and her reply was "OK I will try." (She is 83 years young) She was so happy to do something other than play cards. So I will put a picture of that up just so you can see what I am talking about. They are cute.



The rest of my time since New Years has been spent packing away all the Christmas stuff; glad to get the house back in order. Maybe I'll be able to post more often. To end this blog I pray for all the people in Haiti , It was such a travisty.

It's done

Well, I have finally finished painting my ceilings except for the back hall and over my shower. I also finished the wishing well if front of my house. That's 3 bedrooms,two baths the kitchen and living room and a long hallway, might I add. I can't post any pic's because my camera is down and I am going to have it checked out, to see what is wrong with it. I will take the picture and it is OK , but when I load it to the computer The pictures are messed up. So I am taking it to the camera shop tomorrow. The ceilings look GREAT, and I am so proud of my self. If my late husband were alive he would have beamed with joy. He always said I stink at painting. This time he would have to say "nice job!"
My eldest grandson has moved out of his mum and dad's house and got his own place with a friend. My daughter is feeling a little blue. But she will get over it soon enough. Having am extra bedroom in the house comes in handy. I think her husband wants it though. My other daughter and her two boys are a bundle of joy. I keep telling her to enjoy them now. No one knows what tomorrow will bring. Oh and I must not forget my beautiful Georgia, I love her so much. She is smart as a wipe and talented also. She helps her mummy and daddy. too. I am proud of all their report cards and what the teachers have to say. To them "thank you".
My next job will be to make about 5 mice for The Christmas party at school. Christmas is such a wonderful holiday. How I wish Kelly ,Paul and the kids could be here. I miss them. Thanksgiving is next week. So a very blessed Turkey day to all . Don't eat to much turkey or you might miss the whole day napping. God Bless

Well Things Are Looking Up!

Hi, Things are looking up . Since the last time I logged in. I have accomplished a lot. I still didn't get my camera fixed so I haven't any pictures. But, I am here to tell you what I've done. As you remember I said I wanted to paint the wishing well in front of the house and I did! It turned out great . I love the color. It is a very soft green. I will get pic as soon as possible I promise. Also I have been painting my ceilings. I live in a 3 bedroom mobile home. With my back , hips,knees and fibromyalgia , it was quite an accomplishment.I started some time ago but I got the first bedroom done in a day, rested three days and did the bathroom in the front of the house. I rested three days again. I am serious it takes that long to get enough strength to go on. I do not feel sorry for myself either. God helps me through every day. Anyway I did the second bedroom , then the liven room and long hallway which was a bummer. I hurt so bad. My youngest daughter came over and made me stop and she took over. God bless her. It took me a long time to recover from that day. But I am back to painting. Yesterday I started the back bathroom , which is my bathroom. Did I mention I have 3 skylights. Ha ha! They are fun to paint. In a mobile home the wood that goes around the bottom of the window, will come right off. Well yours truly didn't know that and almost broke her neck when I grabbed on to it so I wouldn't fall. As luck has it, I didn't. Today I will take a day off. But tomorrow I will start the last bedroom and maybe the back hall. They will be hard because I have one of those bedroom sets that weigh a ton. I will get it done though. On the weekend I will finish up by doing the kitchen. I am hoping Barb will give me a hand with that room. It is large with a small chandelier and another set of lights then the skylight and lastly a light over the sink. And lots of cupboards.I will be so proud of myself. For those of you that haven't seen the inside of a mobile home You will be surprised at the space you have and as I said the pictures are coming. So my pity party is over and I feel so much better. If you want to feel better don't put things off just stay busy and get a blog!!!
